Visa, a global leader in digital payments, has signed a new agreement with Bank of Abyssinia, reinforcing their long‑standing collaboration and shared commitment to expanding secure, inclusive, and innovative digital payment solutions across Ethiopia.
The agreement will support the continued growth of Visa products issued by Bank of Abyssinia, while enabling the bank to enhance customer experiences through advanced digital payment capabilities. The collaboration underscores both organizations’ focus on driving financial inclusion, supporting the country’s digital transformation agenda, and expanding access to electronic payments for individuals and businesses.
Through this agreement, Bank of Abyssinia will continue to invest in the development of premium products and strengthen its digital banking offering, while leveraging Visa’s global payment network, technology, and expertise. The collaboration also supports the expansion of secure payment acceptance and cross‑border payment capabilities, helping Ethiopian consumers and merchants participate more fully in the global digital economy.
