Minet Group has promoted Sammy Muthui to Regional Chief Executive Officer for Eastern Africa, expanding his mandate to drive the growth of the Group’s insurance business across the region.
Muthui, who also serves as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Minet Kenya, brings more than three decades of experience in the insurance industry, with expertise spanning strategic leadership, business growth and operational excellence.
The expanded role will see Muthui work with Minet’s country CEOs across Eastern Africa to deepen collaboration, share expertise and best practices, and strengthen the Group’s collective capabilities across the region.
Announcing the promotion, Minet Group CEO Joe Onsando said the Group was pleased to expand Muthui’s responsibilities, with the new role focused on leading the growth of Minet’s business across the region.
“Lead the growth of Minet’s business across the region,” Onsando said, outlining the focus of Muthui’s expanded mandate.
According to Onsando, the approach will enable Minet to strengthen collaboration and knowledge sharing across its markets while maintaining strong local leadership in individual countries.
The Group said the enhanced collaboration and development of expertise across its operations will help deliver greater value to clients, employees and shareholders.
Muthui’s promotion adds a broader regional responsibility to his existing leadership of Minet Kenya, placing him at the centre of the Group’s efforts to strengthen its business across Eastern Africa.
His more than 30 years of experience in the insurance sector will support his expanded responsibilities as he works with country leadership teams to share knowledge, expertise and best practices across Minet’s regional operations.
Minet Group is an insurance advisory and brokerage group with operations across Africa. The Group provides insurance, risk management and employee benefits solutions to individuals and businesses.
The promotion of Muthui marks an expansion of his leadership mandate within the Group as Minet continues to leverage collaboration and shared expertise across its Eastern African operations.
