Crown Paints Opens Kisii Depot to Serve 15 Towns

Crown Paints Kenya has opened a new depot in Kisii, targeting construction activity across 15 towns in the wider South Nyanza region as demand for paints and building finishes extends beyond Kenya’s major urban centres.

The facility, officially launched by Group Chief Executive Officer Mustafa Turra, will serve key markets including Kisii, Nyamira, Oyugis, Homa Bay and Mbita, strengthening the company’s reach among dealers, contractors and property developers undertaking residential, commercial and institutional projects.

The depot is expected to improve product availability and reduce reliance on supplies from distant distribution points such as Kisumu, helping customers access specialised coatings and building finishes closer to their projects. While addressing dealers during the launch, Turra said the investment reflects a deliberate shift towards emerging construction centres where demand for quality building materials continues to create new business opportunities.

“Kenya’s construction market is no longer concentrated in major cities. Growing towns are creating significant opportunities for investment in housing, commercial developments and supporting infrastructure. Our Kisii depot positions us to capture this demand while strengthening the capacity of local dealers to participate in the region’s growth,” explained Turra.

The Kisii facility follows the recent opening of a Crown Paints Xperience Centre in Machakos County, targeting the area’s residential and commercial construction market. The two investments underscore the firm’s strategy to capture opportunities in regional growth centres while strengthening its competitive position in Kenya’s paints and coatings industry.
